Jellies: Living Art
Sea Otter Classic Rolls into Monterey

As ethereal as they are unearthly, jellies are among the ocean's most unusual and diverse inhabitants. They float in a most artistic fashion....

Which is what inspired the creation of the Monterey Bay Aquarium's dazzling exhibit Jellies: Living Art, opening on April 8. The exhibit pairs human artists, including the likes of David Hockney, dancers, and poets with immense tanks of rare creatures, to dazzling effect. One of the "don't miss" events in the worlds of both art and marine science.

For more information, call 831-648-4800 or visit www.montereyaquarium.org.
Up to 9000 road, off-road, downhill, dual slalom, and BMX cycle racers will converge on Laguna Seca Recreation Area on March 21-24, for the 12th Annual Sea Otter Classic. There's a fast and furious race through Cannery Row on Thursday, the 21st; new cross country categories; a photogenic Jump Night contest, and a large expo of bicycles, clothes, and gear. Families are well catered for, with cycling safety rodeos for kids.

Camping sites are available at Laguna Seca Recreation Area, and area hotels and motels are ready to welcome the less hardy. For more information on the races, call 530-661-9500, or visit www.galeforce.org.
