Unfortunately, the beauty of Monterey County can't be bottled, but you can take a bit of the Central Coast home with you. From unique art objects to postcards, from custom-made jewelry to t-shirts for the in-laws, the shopping here is excellent. Shopping centers like the Barnyard, the Carmel Plaza, Del Monte Center and The Crossroads offer shopping in a garden setting. During the summer, you can enjoy live entertainment under the sun amid the flowers and fountains. Whether you're looking for an original watercolor or vintage collectibles, elegant clothing or a simple souvenir of your visit, Monterey has a shop that stocks it. And don't forget the nearest thing to bottled beauty: a bottle of fine Monterey County wine!

Jellies: Living Art Store Opens
Inspired by the Monterey Bay Aquarium's dazzling Jellies: Living Art exhibit, a new shop devoted to the delicate beauty of jellyfish has opened at 807 Cannery Row. You'll find everything from original artworks in blown glass and neon to music CDs and Lava-Lamps that mimic the graceful float of live jellies.
Cannery Row's Sweet Thursdays
Make a point of dropping by the shops and restaurants of Cannery Row on third Thursday of each month in 2002. You'll find monthly free drawings for merchandise, gift certificates and more, plus a year-end Sweepstakes. There's live music from the Sweet Thursday Dixieland Band to liven the atmosphere up even more! More information on the website at www.canneryrow.org
