More Reasons to Come Soon

Every year we ask: how can this longest-running jazz festival in the world get any hotter? And then the line-up of artists comes out, and we say: oh, that's how.

The 2005 Monterey Jazz Festival, September 16-18 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds, presents one of the strongest line-ups ever.

The performers headlining this year include artists-in-residence Branford Marsalis and John Scofield, headliners like Tony Bennett, Sonny Rollins, the Pat Metheny Trio and Carla Bley Big Band featuring Steve Swallow, plus Lee Ritenour with Dave Grusin, Larry Carlton with Sapphire Blue, the Clifford Brown-Stan Getz All-Stars, and dozens more. It adds up to over 500 artists appearing on seven stages, plus opportunities to shop for jazz-related merchandise till you drop.
