Aquarium Adventures
Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey
Aquarium Adventures introduce kids and their families to the fascinating world below the sea surface, including a chance to surface SCUBA dive in the Great Tide Pool of the Aquarium (ages 8-13), go out on a research excursion on a 65-foot sailboat, or take behind-the-scenes tours. One of the finest old houses in Salinas will be open for summer afternoon tours every Sunday between May 27 and September 4. Its significance? Novelist John Steinbeck was born and raised here, and many treasures from his childhood remain.

The Esalen Institute invites young and old to tap into their creative wellsprings through a weeklong series of workshops is led by luminaries such as Airto Moreira, Vernon Bush of Glide Memorial gospel choir, improv artist James Sherman, and Tandy Beal of the Moscow Circus. Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix

The Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) brings the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, a key event in the 2005 MotoGP World Championship schedule, to Monterey’s Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca racetrack. Recent track and safety improvements have made the course one of the best in the world - perfect conditions for star riders like Nicky Hayden and world champ Valentino Rossi.
