ShoppingUnfortunately, the beauty of Monterey County can’t be bottled, but you can take a bit of the Central Coast home with you. From unique art objects to postcards, from custom-made jewelry to t-shirts for the in-laws, the shopping here is excellent. Shopping centers like the Barnyard, the Carmel Plaza, Del Monte Center and The Crossroads offer shopping in a garden setting. During the summer, you can enjoy live entertainment under the sun amid the flowers and fountains. Seaside and Sand City are the place to look for great bargains at stores like Cost Plus World Market, Target, Costco and Borders.

Whether you’re looking for an original watercolor or vintage collectibles, elegant clothing or a simple souvenir of your visit, Monterey has a shop that stocks it. And don’t forget the nearest thing to bottled beauty: a bottle of fine Monterey County wine!
