Accommodations Dining
April is a lovely time for a Monterey County getaway: the early flowers are in full bloom, baby seals and sea otters are dipping and diving in the kelp, and the mild air invites hiking, biking and exploring. Several hotels and restaurants are offering special packages and dining opportunities around the Easter weekend, too.

chocolate condor      Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you have to miss the Easter Bunny! Bearing his traditional basket of Easter eggs, he hops into parks in Carmel (April 8) and Monterey (April 15), and teams up with Skipper the Otter to deliver Lucky Eggs at the Sea Otter Classic (April 8-9). For a really unusual egg hunt, try the Ventana Wildlife Society's first Chocolate Condor Egg Hunt (April 9) at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. The adorable chocolate condor chicks were designed by Norm Thompson.
